Not-So-Great Expectations

Week three of training for this year's NYC Marathon got off to an acceptable start on Sunday morning.  The day's forecast called for heavy rain (Spoiler alert:  They nailed it!) and the schedule called for a seven-mile run.  I was pleased to complete it less than five minutes prior to the skies opening up.  Seven miles in 67 dry minutes.  Victory!

Completing a morning run without getting caught in a monsoon might not seem to you to be an accomplishment worthy of the moniker, "Victory!" but - take it from this fan of the 2016 Yankees - it most certainly was.

You simply need to learn how to manage your present expectations...

...and build a foundation for what you hope shall be a better tomorrow.
