Lemonade - Freshly Squeezed

When we are children, we seldom think about the future.
This innocence leaves us free to enjoy ourselves as few adults can.
The day we fret about our future is the day we leave our childhood behind.
- Patrick Rothfuss

September 11, 2001, a Tuesday, was a day on which far too many children in these United States were forced to leave their childhood behind.  For a child who lost a parent or other loved one as the result of the actions of the murderous cowards who hijacked the two United and the two American Airlines jets that morning, that day marked the end of childhood.  And it mattered not how old the child was and how much - or how little - of the childhood yet remained to be lived.  In an instant, everything changed.

Out of something so stark, so tragic and so goddamn infuriating, a seed was planted from which a beautiful, loving tree has grown.  Tuesday's Children was founded to promote long-term healing in all those directly impacted by the events of September 11, 2001.   Thirteen-plus years removed from the murderous events that brought it into being, it remains faithful to its code and to those it serves

A picture has been said to be equal in value to one thousand words.  In the immortal words of Joe Jackson, there goes your proof...

Where'd all the days go, when all we did was play?
And the stress that we were under wasn't stress at all
Just a run and a jump into a harmless fall.
-Paolo Nutini
